DIAGNOSTIC EVALUATIONS
Center for Testing and Education
-
Have you been feeling ‘off’ or like something is just not right with you?
-
Are you confused about a previous diagnosis and want a second opinion?
-
Do you know something is wrong and need a diagnosis in order to receive proper treatment?
If you can relate to any of these situations, then getting a diagnostic assessment may be a useful option for you, and will be the first step towards getting the help you may need. In order to make a definitive diagnosis, we conduct a comprehensive assessment tailored to each client’s needs. Depending on the reason for the referral and the specific difficulties experienced, the assessment may include a structured background interview, standardized cognitive assessment, assessing attention, impulsivity, and organization, measures of visual and auditory processing, and standardized measures examining social, emotional, behavioral and psychological symptoms to differentiate between symptoms and their likely causes.
The main goal of the assessment is to work with you to determine an optimal treatment plan. Upon completion of your comprehensive report, we meet with you for a detailed feedback session to review your test results, answer questions and review treatment options, strategies, provide any necessary referrals, and resources for managing symptoms.

Obtaining an accurate diagnosis of ASD, and receiving subsequent treatment and support, may have profound positive effects on an individual’s academic performance, social functioning, career success and overall life satisfaction.
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), which includes what was previously referred to as Asperger’s Syndrome, is diagnosed in 1 in 68 children in the United States and is frequently thought of as a condition typically impacting children. Many adolescents and adults who have ASD are never diagnosed as children, yet experience ASD symptoms that interfere with their daily lives.
