Crystal Rodriguez is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a National Certified Counselor (NCC) who specializes in work with adults and teens experiencing anxiety, depression, interpersonal and familial difficulties, emotional struggles, and low self-esteem, confidence, and motivation. Crystal is passionate about working with parents on various challenges, IVF, and post-partum support, and she runs the Parenting STEPS course. Her extensive training also includes treatments of co-occurring disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and depression and grief. Crystal provides individual therapy as well as group therapy, using an integrative/holistic approach to counseling with an emphasis on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and multicultural counseling. Crystal promotes therapeutic growth by fostering increased client resiliency, emotion regulation, mindfulness and grounding techniques, family systems and dynamics as well as other treatment modalities.
Crystal was formally trained and mentored under doctors of psychology in private practice at PWC for over two years. She has trained in intensive-outpatient, partial-care and outpatient levels of care gaining experience in facilitating social skills groups, job skills groups, and substance use recovery groups. Crystal facilitates counseling that is person-centered and focuses on client empowerment to promote growth and change while collaborating on an individualized treatment plan unique to each client.
Born and raised in New Jersey, Crystal graduated summa cum-laude from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology with minors in criminology, sociology and British studies. She earned her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Fairleigh Dickinson University and completed her clinical internship hours as part of her graduate program at Friendship House of North Jersey and Richard Hall Community Mental Health Center.
