MS. Karen Katz, M.S., LCSW
Karen Katz is a Florida Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She works with individuals of all ages, families, and couples. She has extensive experience treating adults in all ages and stages of their lives, including areas of depression, anxiety, concerns of physical health, and relational difficulties. Using an array of evidence-based treatments, Karen works to create a plan of care that’s unique for each individual; starting with respect and moving towards understanding and insight.
Additionally, working with children/adolescents and the people who care for and love them has been a particular focus and area of specialty for Karen. Karen’s experience with children ranges from autism spectrum, anxiety, depression, and behavioral difficulties. She works with both children and their loved ones to help achieve success and mental wellbeing for both the child and their family. Karen knows it can be overwhelming to see a child struggle but with experienced professional treatment change can be possible.
Educationally, Karen’s focus on mental health wellness has been clear since her 1994 graduation from the State University of New York at Stony Brook with her Masters of Social Work degree and her training at one of New York’s most renowned medical and mental health care systems. Karen has also gone on to obtain entry into the Academy of Certified Social Workers and has also been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker as designated by the states of New York and Connecticut. Karen, prior to relocating permanently to Florida, ran her own mental health practice in New York.
Karen has therapeutic training and experience in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Anxiety and Depression treatment, Living with Chronic Illness, Psycho-Oncology and Bereavement.
