Licensed Psychologist

Dr. Erin Lawson is a Florida licensed psychologist. Born and raised in South Georgia, she obtained her Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral degrees from Georgia Southern University and later moved to Florida to complete her predoctoral internship at the Faulk Center for Counseling in Boca Raton. She later completed her postdoctoral residency at Caron Renaissance, an addiction treatment center, where she gained additional experience with neuropsychological and psychological evaluations.  Her training has afforded her, over the past decade, experience working with couples, families, children, adolescents, and adults at every developmental stage (18-95+). 

 

Throughout her experience, Dr. Lawson has served populations in private practice, inpatient psychiatric facilities, rural underserved populations, psychological testing centers, young adult residential treatment, retirement communities, community mental health centers, and university settings. Additionally, she has prior experience as a lecturer and instructor of undergraduate courses. Her assessment experiences have included the evaluation of cognitive, academic, emotional, behavioral, and social evaluations of children, adolescents, and adults. She has received training in multiple empirically-supported therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy as well as multicultural, narrative, and feminist approaches. 

Outside of the office, Dr. Lawson teaches and performs improvisational comedy. She also facilitates corporate team-building workshops. Dr. Lawson often uses humor and creative approaches in her work with clients to facilitate relationship and foster therapeutic growth.
